WARNING!!!!  Baseball content!!!!

Today is the best day ever… Baseball opening day!  At last Baseball season is here, and really is there anything better than that?  Today i was really disappointed that I wasn’t going to be able to listen to the game as it started at 3pm and i work from 1:45-6:30… however, Dad being the great guy that he is… sent me text updates, letting me know that we were winning 5-1… but then no more updates, and i was beginning to freak out a bit…. So a rushed home from work and ran straight to the computer to check the scores… Then… due to tornado warnings (dumb reason) the internet didn’t work!!!  AAAHHH!!! what’s a girl to do??  But no fear the internet now works…. as you can tell by the post… duh.  I found out the game was rained out =(…. but it will be replayed at a very convenient time for me tomorrow!  Yippee for me!!!

Oh yeah, and earlier this evening, i was sitting in my car listening to the radio, and it was time to leave, but my windows were a little fogged… so i went to stick my head out the driver’s side window to see to back up.  Unfortunately, I noticed after i banged my head into the window, that it was only rolled it down a crack.  Sometimes i’m amazed at my own stupidity.

Today was an early dismissal day for the school district i work in, so i had 24 kindergarteners from 12:00 til 6:30 rather than 2:30 to 6:30…. I’m pooped.  When i first got the the school to set up, a few of the classes were in the cafeteria eating lunch so i sat on the stairs of the stage waiting for the kids to finish.  One of the boys sitting at the table closest to me announced to the rest of the table that i was his girlfriend.  I looked at him and smiled setting the boys at table into a belly laugh.  He then began to stomp and hit the table to try to get me to look at him, and when i didn’t, his friend said, “You must not have taught her good, she ain’t payin’ you no ‘tention.”  I almost peed myself it was so funny.

Later when we were playing outside, one of my twin girls, Kerris, decided that i needed to wear her pink sunglasses… with hello kitty-type animals on them… they were awesome… i thought you might need a picture so that you can enjoy them as much as I

Spring cleaning

So i’m proud of myself… I have a guest staying with me tomorrow for campus days… thus, i have rearranged all my stuff… i’ve dusted, i’ve vacuumed, all my laundry is washed and put away, i’ve washed all the bedding and all the towels (even the ones that were clean but on the shelf for a while so that they’d all smell fresh) I even cleaned the microwave… you know when you don’t bend down to look in there, you don’t notice how gross that gets… blech. It was kinda ridiculous…. but it’s clean now!….

Oh and today one of my kids, Michael gave me a big bag of pecans…. i don’t know what to do with them… I should probably point out that everyone here has pecan trees in their back yards… so my pecans are in the shells… i don’t know how to crack them and then i don’t know what i’d do with them after they were cracked… make a pie?  i think i’m going to throw them away… unless anyone wants a bag of pecans… i’ll mail them.

crap my socks haven’t matched all day.

you’re new comedy… Miss Guided.  Seems like an adorable new comedy… i watched the “sneak preview” last week and really enjoyed it.  However, i feel like putting it between 7 and 8pm on Thursday night (central time) is a mistake.  Why would you make your new comedy compete with NBC’s famous and well established night of comedy?  It just seems like bad marketing…

Sincerely,

Kristi

Why is Reyes not being considered for the starting 5?  he’s not a great pitcher but he does have the 2nd lowest ERA and 2nd most Ks in spring training.  Wellemeyer, Looper, and Thompson are all getting spots above him, but haven’t performed as well.  Reyes is being considered for a pen spot, but most think that Reyes isn’t cut out for a relieving job…. he’d be MUCH better suited to go to Memphis than the pen…. however, Thompson IS a good candidate for the pen… and he hasn’t pitched as well as Reyes…. why don’t they switch?? at least until we can get one of the SIX pitchers put on the DL healthy…. UHG.

Back at the Y

After a week of vacation club… a whole week of various kids from all the schools together at the Y.  I was ready to be back at my school with my kids.  My obnoxious, loud, bouncing off the wall kindergarteners, were looking pretty good after a week of snotty attitude filled 10 year olds.

Today two of my girls had some expired six flags coupons and were pretending that they were tickets to the Hannah Montana concert they were putting on. They passed the tickets out, but one of the boys, Levi,  took all of the “tickets” starting a little fight between him and Kennedy (Hannah Montana). It went a little bit like this:

Kennedy:  Give em back, they’re not yours!

Levi: I’ll give em to you for twenty dollars

Kennedy: How bout you give em to me and i’ll give you a high five

Levi: At the concert?

Kennedy: yeah yeah! at the concert! I’ll give you a high five

Levi: ok

And he handed them over…. Man i wish that i could talk into giving me something for a high five instead of $20… I’d eat out a lot more often

Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man.  But for a very good man someone MIGHT possibly dare to die. But Christ demonstrated his love for us in that while we were STILL sinners, Christ died for us.

I had to be at work today at 6:15 after a night of tossing and turning… i maybe slept maybe 2 and 1/2 hours last night.  I didn’t have time to drink a cup of coffee this morning and sense i have misplaced all of my travel mugs, i couldn’t take coffee with me.  (Not a good start).  So i thought, no big deal, i’ll just get a cup of coffee at the Y…..  Yeah… i didn’t know that coffee could smell and taste JUST like burned popcorn.  I was supposed to get off work today at 12:30… I was finally able to leave a few minutes before 3.

When i got home, Mom called to see if i had gotten the package she sent me… I hadn’t as our mail room is closed all week for spring break.  Mom couldn’t handle me not getting my Easter package after Easter, so she suggested I call the Post Office to see if I could pick up my package there.  I looked up the number and called.  I told the lady that I attend SAGU and before I could finish my sentence, she says…. “Is this Kristi??!!  I have your package!!! Come and Get it!!”  I was like wow… that’s weird.

Apparently, while i was looking up the number to the post office, the post office was calling my mom to see if I could come get my package.  (I should say she sent me my package in a honey baked ham box, and the post office thought I was receiving a ham that would go bad over the weekend)

So i got home and opened up a box full of great Easter candy…. and some weird orange cream and coco peeps…. a flower garden… and SOME COFFEE!!!!!!  I think my mom’s a prophet, knowing how awful my morning would be today to make sure i’d get coffee in the mail this afternoon.

Tiffany, Jeremy, and Logan were in town this weekend for a wedding, so I got to spend all day with them today.  It was fabulous as I don’t get to see family all that often especially here in Texas.  We took Logan to the Fort Worth Zoo… which by the way is a GREAT zoo and in some ways even better than the St. Louis zoo, which is saying a lot….

Anyway…. we got to the big cat area and there was a place with a big male lion (for you st. louisians, the place was a lot like where the polar bear is at the STL zoo) He was really close to us and even got up on a rock and roared at us… it was kinda frightening… but SUPER cool.  While we were watching him i asked Logan, “Is that a boy lion or a girl lion?” and logan answered, “it’s a boy” so I asked him, “how do you know” and he answered because it has hair all over its face.  And i said, ” very good that’s exactly right!”

The next place had two female lions and as we watched them there was a woman who said to her husband, “Aww look, they must be young, because they haven’t grown their manes yet.”  Logan looked at her and said, “No those are girls they don’t grown hair on their face.”  Her husband cracked up… I bit my tongue to keep from laughing and tried to ignore the situation.
